SPLASH & BLAST AT KENSINGTON METROPARK

Two 240 foot water slides are an invigorating way to beat the summer heat in the Splash & Blast water play area. Water cannons and spray and splash activities make this attraction a family favorite. The Splash & Blast is located at the public beach on Kent Lake at the fabulous 4,481 acre first-class recreational facility.

  

 

FISHING

Licensed fishermen will find summer catches including bass (large and smallmouth), walleye, northern pike, bluegills, perch, and crappies. Shore-fishing sites are near parking and several handicap-accessible fishing piers are available on Kent Lake at Kensington Metropark and other park areas featured on this link.

 

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

There is no shortage of choices for picnic sites at the Metropark so pack your favorite lunch and dine alfresco near the lake. Not into picnicking? No problem. There are two eateries at the Metropark. A concession stand is located at the Splash & Blast and a restaurant can be found at the Farm Center.

 

HIKING AND BIKING

At Kensington Metropark the wooded hilly terrain surround beautiful Kent Lake. The 8 1/2 mile paved hike and bike trail provide the ultimate opportunity for viewing the bountiful wildlife. Safety first, as helmets are required by local ordinance for cyclists and in-line skaters. Skate boards and mountain boards are not permitted here but welcome at other skate-board parks in Livingston County, consult the visitors guide for listings.

 

FITNESS TRAIL

No need to drive elsewhere to complete your work-out, Kensington has a 20-station exercise trail designed to provide a well-balanced routine of physical activity that is fun for all ages located in Playfield Picnic Areas.

 

OTHER SPORTS

Metropark visitors can rent a Kayak, Rowboat or Paddle Boat to explore the 1200 acre Kent Lake and view the abundant wildlife. Golfers can play the beautiful 18 hole golf course and Disc Golf players will enjoy the 24 basket disc golf course in the park.
